WhatsApp Attendance Report
Use this tab to deliver your attendance report to a WhatsApp number on a schedule, so the people who need it get a short summary on their phone without opening the portal. Your organisation configures a single WhatsApp recipient here.
Getting there
Click Notifications in the sidebar, then open the WhatsApp Attendance Report tab.
What you’ll see
A single form:
- Send attendance reports to WhatsApp : the master on/off switch. While it’s off, the rest of the fields are greyed out.
- WhatsApp phone number : the recipient’s number.
- Frequency : Daily, Weekly, Monthly, or Exceptions only.
- Send time : when the message goes out, interpreted in Africa/Lagos time.
- Day to send : only appears when the frequency is Weekly.
- Consent checkbox : confirms the recipient agreed to receive WhatsApp messages. Required before you can enable delivery.
- Save button.
Phone number format
The number is stored in E.164 format without the + , country code followed by the subscriber number, digits only. For a Nigerian number that’s 234 plus the 10-digit number, for example 2347079111242.
You can type it in the way that’s natural to you and TimePally normalises it:
0703 000 0000→2347030000000703 000 0000→23470300000002347030000000→ kept as-is
Common tasks
Turn on WhatsApp delivery
- Tick Send attendance reports to WhatsApp.
- Enter the WhatsApp phone number.
- Choose a Frequency and a Send time. For Weekly, also pick the Day to send.
- Tick the consent checkbox to confirm the recipient agreed to receive messages.
- Click Save.
Stop sending without losing the number
Untick Send attendance reports to WhatsApp and click Save. The number and schedule stay configured; switch it back on whenever you want to resume.
Defaults
A freshly enabled report uses sensible defaults you can change at any time: Daily frequency at 18:00 (6:00 PM) Africa/Lagos.
Enabling it during onboarding
New organisations can switch on daily WhatsApp summaries from the Onboarding Wizard without visiting this page. That step is optional, simply enter a WhatsApp number and agree to receive notifications. It sets up the same daily report you can fine-tune here later.
Tips
- Consent is required to enable delivery, this keeps your messaging compliant with WhatsApp’s policies. You can withdraw it anytime by turning the report off.
- Only one WhatsApp recipient is configured per organisation. To send to several people, use the Email Attendance Report, which supports multiple recipients.
Note: As with email reports, this tab only controls when the summary is sent and to which number. The contents come from the same data shown on the General Report pages.
